When Molly and Daniel reached out to me about photographing their greenhouse wedding day at the Ivy House, it was an immediate squeal-turned-happy-dance and frantically emailing them back wicked excited to be apart of their special day. Naturally, their day was centered around their love for one other, their people, and the most beautiful greenhouse that makes The Ivy House so special. So, if you have been looking for the perfect greenhouse wedding venue in Western Michigan, stick around and see how Molly and Daniel created the most beautiful atmosphere to share their vows.

The Ivy House in Michigan made so much sense for this kind of wedding because the space gives you options without making the day feel scattered.
Located in Saugatuck, MI near Lake Michigan, The Ivy House is an indoor and outdoor wedding venue with a glass greenhouse ceremony space, modern reception hall, getting ready suites, in-house support, bar service, coordination options, and room for up to 300 guests (It’s the whole damn package!).
Basically, it has the bones for a polished wedding day without forcing the day to feel copy & paste.. And for couples who want a greenhouse wedding venue in Michigan that still feels warm, flexible, and easy for guests to navigate, that matters.

The Greenhouse is one of the BIGGEST reasons couples fall in love with The Ivy House. It gives you that indoor-outdoor feeling without making your entire ceremony dependent on Michigan weather, which, as we all know, has a flair for drama.
The glass structure brings in beautiful natural light and gives the ceremony space that garden-like feeling without requiring your guests to sit in a field and hope the wind behaves.
For couples dreaming of greenhouse weddings in Michigan, this is the kind of space that feels elevated but still grounded. It photographs beautifully, but it also feels good to actually be in, which is something I care about a lot more than people probably expect.

Which is a very long way of saying: The Ivy House is not the kind of venue where you’re left standing in an empty room wondering who is supposed to bring the tables, where the bar is going, or whether grandma can safely get from the ceremony to the reception without doing an obstacle course.
All of their packages are for a guest count up to 300 guests!
The Signature Ceremony & Reception Package includes exclusive use of the space for the full day, access to The Greenhouse for the ceremony, use of two getting ready suites, three meetings, one custom layout, setup and teardown of furnishings, and a limited onsite team to help manage the venue.
Starting at: $4,900
The Signature Coordination Package is Ivy House’s most popular package. It includes exclusive use of the property for the full day plus day-of coordination beginning six months before the wedding. This includes structured coordination meetings, unlimited layouts, rehearsal and ceremony coordination, vendor management, timeline creation, setup and teardown support, and more.
Starting at: $7,400
The Signature Planning Package is the venue’s top-tier option and begins one year before the wedding date. It includes full-day property access, day-of coordination, vendor management, timeline creation and execution, budget meetings, vendor sourcing, and design consultations, especially for international or out-of-state couples.
Starting at: $9,900
Pricing and inclusions can always change, so use this as a starting point and check directly with The Ivy House for the most current package details before getting too emotionally attached to a spreadsheet. Speaking from experience: wedding planning spreadsheets are powerful and dangerous.

What stood out to me most about this Saugatuck wedding was how naturally the venue supported the couple’s priorities.
Because the property is easy to move through, accessible, and designed to host both ceremony and reception in one place, guests weren’t constantly being shuffled from one location to another. The couple didn’t have to disappear for hours. The whole day had a sense of flow.
And when your wedding vision is less “giant production” and more “I want to actually hug my people, eat good food, and remember what the day felt like,” that flow matters.
The Ivy House gave them enough structure for the day to feel smooth, but enough breathing room for the moments to unfold naturally.

The Ivy House is probably a good fit if you want a wedding venue that feels polished without feeling cheesy.
It works especially well for couples who care about their guest experience, want a beautiful ceremony space that doesn’t fully depend on the weather, and like the idea of having support built into the venue itself.
And if you’re the kind of couple who wants the day to feel intentional, emotional, and easy to be present for, this Saugatuck MI wedding venue gives you a lot to work with.
See how I prioritize documenting the in-between moments in this post.

From a photography perspective, what I loved most about this Ivy House wedding was how much room there was for real moments.
Yes, the greenhouse is beautiful. Yes, the reception space photographs well. Yes, the light is lovely and the chandeliers are doing their little main character thing.
But the reason this wedding stayed with me had less to do with the venue looking good and more to do with how the couple used the space.

They gave themselves time with their guests, kept the day focused on connection, and included details that meant something. And because of that, the photos had something to hold onto.
That’s always what I’m looking for. Not just pretty backdrops, but the honest, weird, soft, emotional, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it pieces of the day that make the gallery feel like yours.

If you’re planning an Ivy House wedding and want photos that feel like the actual day, not a perfectly polished performance of it — I’d love to help you document it.
Whether you’re building your wedding around family, food, quiet moments, a packed dance floor, or bouquets that carry generations of stories inside them, your day deserves to be photographed with that same level of care.
